Throughout his career Harvey Tillipman has helped organizations strategically achieve goals to successfully and fully realize their mission. Organizations have contracted with him to serve as a consultant or Interim for the positions of Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

In over 35 years of practice, he has managed ​ and consulted with more than 25 companies and organizations whose annual budgets ranged from under $1 million to over $40 million. Colleagues describe him as a team builder and a consensus builder who isn’t afraid to make tough decisions. Staff I have worked with have said, "You are a calming presence with a logical, skillful approach to association work". The result of his management style and effectiveness have assisted organizations (some of which were in financial and/or organizational crises) achieve strategic business success.

Early in his career he was the CEO/Executive Director of health and behavioral health organizations providing the complete continuum of care, including outpatient, inpatient, day, residential, long term and at-home care. For a number of years, he practiced social work as a family therapist and psychiatric social worker. Academically he has been an Assistant and adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota, University of Iowa and University of Maryland, and has presented technical papers and lectured at many national conferences and meetings. Having moved to the East Coast in 2000, he was retained as an internal management consultant for Sheppard Pratt Health System (founded in 1853, is one of the oldest private psychiatric hospitals in the nation) and was responsible for strategic business planning and acquisition of community based mental health organizations. Harvey later served as an association President and CEO in Washington DC, during which he created new programs, new services, and increased membership as well as raising substantial income and sponsorship revenue; bringing new life and financial security to an organization that had shuttered its doors prior to his arrival. In the summer of 2010, Harvey started his own consulting business as an interim executive and consultant to provide strategic business development, growth and interim executive management of non-profit organizations and a number of companies.

In addition to his consulting business, his wife has owned, and they have managed their art business for over 15 years. Presenting at art fairs throughout the United States.

Harvey holds two advanced degrees, including a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Xavier University and a Masters of Social Work (MSW) from the Virginia Commonwealth University. Harvey’s Bachelor of Arts degree is from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
