Kathlyn Taylor Gaubatz has over twenty years of experience developing and implementing solutions to homelessness and poverty. In San Francisco, she was executive director of Compass Family Services, a large nonprofit that provides a comprehensive range of services for homeless and very low-income families. In Norfolk, she was the founder and executive director of Virginia Social Ventures, which operated the job training enterprise Spotlight Books.
Kathy also is an experienced interim executive director who has led local, regional, and national nonprofits during periods of leadership transition.
Kathy has served as an Atlantic Fellow at Oxford University and is the author of the book Crime in the Public Mind. She holds a B. A. in sociology from U.C. Berkeley and a Ph.D. in politics from Princeton University. She is a former board member of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement in Washington, DC.
